LibertyOne confirms merger talks

Local internet company LibertyOne yesterday confirmed industry rumours that it is in merger talks with an offshore company.

Whilst the prospective partner has not been named, a likely candidate appears to be Hong Kong-based internet company China.com.

In a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange, LibertyOne officials said no decision about merger proposals have been made and "it is premature for such a decision to be made given the incomplete state of negotiations".

Earlier this year, LibertyOne announced strategic alliances with other Hong-Kong based businesses Net Power, HT Hypernet and Chinese Books Cyberstore.
