Defence and Compuware team up for development

The Defence Information Systems Centre and Compuware Australia have teamed up for the ongoing development of Compuware's network applications management tool, EcoScope.

In the deal, the Defence Centre will become an official beta site for all Compuware EcoScope updates and will have direct input into the development of the tool via Compuware labs in the US.

The Defence Information Systems Centre comprises the voice and data network connecting the Australian Army, Navy, RAAF, Defence Science Technology Organisation and the Department of Defence. The network stretches across Australia and connects more than 300 LANs and some 800 dial-up sites for all uniformed and nonuniformed personnel.

According to Captain Mike Webster, director of operations at the Defence Centre, the defence network will provide Compuware with an Australian perspective on networking issues.
