Equant has launched an Internet-dial access service across 100 countries to provide a more direct connection to Web sites and corporate intranets.
The new IP-based service gives remote employees reliable access to the Internet and their corporate intranets through a single service provider, Equant officials said.
The service is an addition to Equant's global, virtual integrated private network, which allows customers to choose between frame relay, ATM and integrated voice and data.
"The new service offering allows a customer's Internet traffic to be carried to the nearest Internet gateway over Equant's network. This will increase accessibility to remote users," said Andrew Bond-Webster, president, network services division, Equant.
