UNSW improves student administration

The University of New South Wales is seeking a significant competitive advantage and superior service qualities for staff and students with a new Student Administration application.

The UNSW is the first Australian university to use PeopleSoft's Student Administration application, which it will run to support its 30,000 students.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chris Fell, said that UNSW was leading the way with the implementation. In April 1999 the university went live on PeopleSoft Financials, and in December 1999 it completed the installation of PeopleSoft Human Resources.

A spokesperson said that the implementation would provide improved information management and a higher level of customer service by integrating the financial, human resources and student administration functions.
