SA consortium Nets $9m grant

An Adelaide based consortium has won a $9.23 million Federal Government grant for the construction of a state-of-the-art wireless Internet network. mNet Corporation, which is a consortium of telecommunications, IT industry and academic organisations, received nearly 25 per cent of the $37.23 million to be invested into projects for leading edge network technologies over the next three years. The funds will be used to create an advanced network along Adelaide's North Terrace precinct for Australian developers to develop, trial and commercialise a wide range of wireless Internet applications and services.
