Tivoli Systems is expanding its presence in the Asia-Pacific region this year as a result of "spectacular growth" in Australia and Korea.
Plans include further development of a multimillion dollar briefing centre in Perth to replicate and test in an S/390 mainframe environment.
Tivoli Systems Asia-Pacific general manager Mark Latchford said that business growth across the region last year was 44 per cent, but in Australia the figure was closer to 65 per cent.
Latchford said the Australian marketplace understands the value proposition of management around e-business initiatives particularly when it came to the fundamentals like security and storage.
He said growth in security throughout the region amounted to 200 per cent and was followed closely by storage.
"There is still a low penetration rate in the region for enterprise management offerings so we expect this level of growth to continue in 2001, especially in Australia and New Zealand where there is no evidence of a slow down," Latchford said.
