Sun Microsystems handed out its partner awards at the recent Sun Micro National Partner Conference with the Fulcrum Consulting Group, CSC and Fujitsu Australia emerging as the big winners on the night.
Fulcrum was awarded the 1999 gong for Enterprise Services, Sun Service Agent of the Year, while CSC secured Enterprise Services Sun Service Manager of the Year. Sun's 1999 National Reseller of the Year Award went to eServ.
Perhaps the most prestigious of all went to Fujitsu, which was named National Commercial Systems Integrator Partner of the Year. Bryan Daniels, Fujitsu's chief operating officer, information systems, said it was an important milestone in the relationship between the two organisations.
Daniels said that the 1998-99 year saw significant growth in Fujitsu's systems integration business from some "very targeted strategies" and joint initiatives with "major partners such as Sun".
"We expect even greater synergies in the future because of the Amdahl merger as Amdahl also has a strong track record with Sun," Daniels said.
Sun Microsystems' managing director, Russell Bate, said the partnership with Fujitsu has been fruitful over a number of years.
