Older job-seekers lose the dot com faith

IT staff are excluding dot com companies from their career strategies believing there are greater opportunities in a 'traditional' firm.

According to Australian recruitment firm Morgan and Banks (MBT) a massive 52.5 per cent of respondents had no faith in working with a dot com company and a further 32.7 per cent believed dot coms have "had their day".

MBT director Ian James said even IT staff were rethinking their futures but those in the ranks of CEO or Director were far more confident believing dot coms can provide security.

The loss of faith in the dot com sector was not reflected in the 19-24 year old age group but older people thought the industry was not a stable employment option.
