A new compliance system to alert IT managers of changes in Australia's regulatory environment has been developed to help them stay one step ahead of the mass of legislative amendments that occur every year.
LawLex, developed by Anstat, helps IT managers avoid regulatory penalties by providing e-mail alerts of any changes to bills, acts, assents, amendments or regulations within 24 hours of any change.
LawLex managing director Jacob Weinmann said that, with governments in Australia generating more than 62,000 amendments to legislation each year, companies are facing a more complex regulatory landscape with harsher penalties for noncompliance.
"Many of these amendments have an important operational impact on companies which is why directors are now putting compliance at the top of their priorities when it comes to corporate governance," he said.
"The task of staying informed can be impossible and we have designed our service as a timely alert not a substitute for comprehensive legal advice provided by advisers."
The LawLex service also allows legal firms and peak bodies to create their own branded e-mail services to clients.
