Dell has appointed a new managing director for Australia and New Zealand following the retirement of Gary Elliott after seven years in the top job. Replacing him is Michael Gibson, former South Pacific regional director for Dell in Singapore.
Gibson has worked in Australia, Europe and the US during an 11-year tenure with Fleetguard, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cummins Engine. Previously he spent six years at Pitney Bowes.
Gibson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Western Connecticut University.
Elliott was at the helm of Dell when it grew to become the leading supplier of computer systems to government and business in Australia. He will remain with the company for a transitional period before leaving at the end of July.
