Vodafone AirTouch PLC announced last week that it had received acceptances of its offer from holders of 98.62 percent of the issued share capital of Mannesmann AG.
Vodafone will issue a final tranche of 1.16 billion New Vodafone AirTouch shares to be delivered to accepting Mannesmann shareholders, the company said in a statement. The number includes acceptances in respect of an additional 19.8 million Mannesmann shares since March 17, the company said.
After this final tranche, there will be 61.3 billion shares of Vodafone AirTouch ordinary stock outstanding, the company said in the statement.
The company expects to begin trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on April 3, having received approval from the listing office there, according to the statement.
Mannesmann's supervisory board accepted the merger with Vodafone AirTouch on Feb. 4 after months of trying to fight the takeover.
