The vulnerability of telecommunications systems to year 2000 (Y2K) outages topped a list of corporate concerns, a recent poll reported.
IT consulting company Cutter Information recently polled 96 companies nationwide, determining that telecom is still considered a year 2000 weak spot.
Officials from 28 percent of the responding companies said telecom is a number one concern, followed by factory operations at 18 percent.
"Telecommunications systems and factory systems appear to be the most problematic areas thus far," according to the survey findings.
Other areas, such as security and access systems, have been deemed less troubling this far into remediation efforts.
