  Internet service provider, iiNet, is the latest Australian organisation to apply for its own top level domain (TLD).

  ARI Registry Services, formerly AusRegistry International, has signed 21 contracts for new top level domains (TLD) in the first week of applications opening, with .brand TLDs proving the most popular.

• ICANN approves internationalized domain names

  Starting in mid-November, countries and territories will be able to apply to show domain names in their native language, a major technical tweak to the Internet designed to increase language accessibility.
