Alan Glickenhouse is a Worldwide SOA Champion in IBM Software Group. His responsibilities include communicating IBM’s SOA messages and capabilities to IBM clients, partners, and employees around the world. Alan is a frequent speaker at many industry conferences worldwide on such topics as SOA, IBM Software, IBM Servers, Virtualization, Autonomic Computing, and On Demand Business.

Previously Alan was responsible for IBM enablement programs for On Demand Business, WebSphere and IBM Servers. Alan has been very active in promoting the use of the web for business for over a dozen years. He led IBM’s worldwide mainframe e-business technical support function, working with some of the largest companies to enable their mainframes for real business over the internet. He also has worked as a liaison between IBM and SAP to implement the electronic ordering and fulfillment capabilities required by IBM. And, in the early days of the web, Alan led a pioneering group who started to sell and deliver IBM software over the web.

She has a strong business background gained in roles in Information Technology, General Management, Project Management, Change Management, and Strategic Planning in large blue chip organisations across multiple industries, including Retailing, Logistics, E Commerce and Health.

She currently holds the position of Chief Information Officer at Spotlight Pty Ltd, covering Spotlight stores in 4 countries as well as Anaconda Stores Australia wide. Her international career experience has been gained in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, China, Singapore and Canada.
