The Australian Capital Territory, home to Australia’s capital city of Canberra, is known for its extensive fibre-to-the-node (FTTN) and fast broadband networks, thanks to government networks, greenfield estates and Internet service provider, TransACT. However, despite this some suburbs and towns continue to have difficulty with getting decent broadband services.

I wouldn't call Canberra's FTTP network extensive, there are only 5 suburbs which are capable of accessing this network. But transacts cable internet is currently being upgraded which is available to around 50-65% of Canberra's suburbia, the network upgrade will see speeds capable of 60mb on the VDSL2 network, all supernodes are being upgraded as we speak and this will be the highest available speed due to the last 300m of the cable run being copper.
