Riverbed Named WAN Optimization Vendor of the Year for Third Consecutive Year by Frost & Sullivan
SAN FRANCISCO—June 14, 2012— Riverbed Technology, the performance company, today announced that it has been recognized by Frost & Sullivan as wide area network (WAN) Optimization Controller Vendor of the Year for the third consecutive year. Riverbed® received this award based on the company’s outstanding performance and innovative business strategies across the Asia Pacific region.
The Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards recognize companies that demonstrate exceptional performance in the region. The award distinguishes companies that demonstrate best practices in their industry and praises innovative business strategies required to advance in the global marketplace. To receive this distinguished award, companies are evaluated by a panel of Frost & Sullivan analysts, senior executives from the industry, and a circle of industry CIOs/CTOs on their performance in the region during the previous year.
"Riverbed continues to innovate in areas that help customers make the most of their existing infrastructure. By focusing on and anticipating the needs of its customers, Riverbed provides companies with more options to support cost-cutting initiatives like IT centralization, virtualization and data center consolidation," said John Higgs, senior vice president of sales, APAC at Riverbed. "This recognition from Frost & Sullivan is confirmation that we’re providing innovative, cost-effective solutions to support customers as they embark on new IT initiatives."

New Demands for Real-time Threat Management
Many organisations are evaluating a new security model based upon IT risk management best practices. This is a good idea, but not enough for today’s dynamic and malevolent threat landscape. To keep up with IT changes and external threats, large organisations need to embrace two new security practices: real-time risk management for day-to-day security adjustments and real-time threat management to detect and remediate sophisticated, stealthy, and damaging security breaches (i.e., advanced persistent threats, or APTs).
