SSL VPN gateway appliance
Computerworld Staff 07/09/2005 07:30:55

WatchGuard Technologies has launched its first SSL VPN gateway appliance with an integrated Citrix environment for remote access. The Firebox SSL Core VPN gateway goes beyond the typical Web-based SSL to include the whole desktop. WatchGuard has also addressed the client administration issues associated with IPSec VPNs by automatically updating the client whenever a user connects to the network. The box supports all protocols and will work through a firewall. There is also a kiosk mode for client-less access to compatible applications. The Firebox runs Linux so looks like Citrix has secretly ported to the open source platform, interesting.
