In recognition of the growing interest in voice recognition technology, a Voice Leadership Forum, will be held in Sydney from March 7-8, 2007.

The forum will showcase the latest developments and business benefits generated through the deployment of voice self-service and speaker verification solutions both here and overseas.

According to Opus Research, the overall market for voice-recognition technology reached $US1 billion for the first time in 2006, a 100 percent increase in just two years.

Opus Research also found that the market for server-based voice-recognition technology in call centres was valued at $US600 million in 2006 and is expected to double by 2009. Speakers at the two day forum include both Australian and international organisations, including St George Bank, Salesforce, Pizza Hut, Australian Health Management, the UK's Standard Life Insurance as well as Trustpower, one of New Zealand's leading utilities.

Topics to be covered include new options to increase customer service levels, voice self-service implementations will be outlined and case studies on biometric speaker verification systems.

Sponsored by VeCommerce, the event will be held at the Shangri-La Hotel.

VeCommerce is a provider of voice self-service solutions and customers include AAPT, BOC Gases, Suncorp,TABCorp and TelstraClear.
