Version 6.0 of Quest JProbe Features Improved Automation and Reporting, Updated User Interface and New Diagnostic Capabilities
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., June 28, 2005 – At JavaOne, Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: QSFT), a leading provider of application, database and Windows management solutions, today announced version 6.0 of Quest JProbe® Suite, featuring improved automation and reporting, a revamped user interface and new capabilities that make it faster and easier for developers to resolve complex memory and performance problems in their critical Java and J2EE applications.
“Quest JProbe continues to lead the industry with its new capabilities, depth of analysis and platform support,” said Larry Humphries, vice president of product management, application management solutions, Quest Software. “Java developers need sophisticated tools for identifying memory and performance issues in their code, but more than this, they need an automated proactive testing solution that integrates easily into build and test frameworks. We also believe JProbe’s enhanced user interface will both win new fans and delight long-time users.”
Quest Software’s award-winning JProbe Suite enables Java developers and QA teams to diagnose complex code-level performance, memory and coverage issues, so they can find and fix problems faster. Part of Quest’s Application Performance Management (APM) Suite for the J2EE platform, JProbe helps users accelerate development, contain costs and ensure a faster, more scalable Java application. Version 6.0 offers exciting new features and enhancements, including:
• Improved test automation and reporting capabilities, which enable JProbe to automatically analyze J2EE applications and generate detailed reports allowing managers and developers to ensure code quality and optimization;
• New use case-based memory debugging diagnostics to help developers isolate and resolve memory leak and memory allocation issues;
• New class- and method-level performance metrics to help developers “blueprint” their applications for automatic per-build performance measurement and tracking; and
• An enhanced user interface that includes new tabbed windows that make navigation and J2EE configuration easier.
“A Fall 2004 Forrester survey of 692 technology influencers – those who hold the IT purse strings – indicated that nearly one-third are dissatisfied both with the time it takes their development shops to deliver custom applications and with their quality.” Forrester analyst Carey Schwaber stated in her April 2005 report, Corporate Software Development Fails To Satisfy On Speed Or Quality, “Corporate application development organizations should adopt iterative, incremental development processes, invest more in software quality and elicit customer feedback on a regular basis.”
