Westpac has advised customers to ignore a hoax e-mail seeking personal details that has been circulating since the weekend.
The hoax asks customers to confirm their banking details which is linked to a fake Westpac Web site.
The e-mail has the subject line "Westpac Bank Alert: Unauthorised login attempts" and says it is obligatory that Westpac customers confirm their bank details.
A Westpac media spokesman said the bank became aware of the hoax e-mail on Sunday night with customers issued with a warning today.
The spokesman did not disclose how many customers were affected or if money has been stolen.
He said anyone receiving the e-mail should delete it, and any customers with concerns should call Westpac on 132 032.
