The number of delegates attending this year's Storage Networking World conference in Sydney this month is expected to double.
To be held at Darling Harbour on September 26 and 27, Storage Networking World will feature 15 end user case studies, a range of panel sessions as well as local and international speakers from Europe and the US.
Gartner's global storage team vice president Phillip Sargeant will present the opening address and will also participate in an end-user panel discussion on disaster recovery featuring Griffith University director of information systems Naveen Sharma and Adelaide University strategic initiatives manager Martin Barbary.
Anthony Cashin, IT&T services manager from the Sydney Airport Corporation, will present a case study on implementing a disaster recovery strategy using both replication and server virtualization technology.
Hydrasight research director John Brand will moderate a panel on "Crossing the Chasm from Records to Storage" with Kate Walker, CEO of the Records Management Association of Australia, and Robert Davis, CA senior vice president and general manager of storage management business.
IDC associate vice president Graham Penn will deliver a presentation on new drivers of storage, disk storage capacity and the solutions that will help companies consolidate, manage, protect and archive volumes of digital media.
Compliance is also on the agenda with a presentation on document retention versus document destruction and employee surveillance by Gilbert and Tobin Lawyers partner Peter Leonard.
The theme of this year's conference, which is organized by the Storage Networking Industry Association, is, Building a Storage Foundation for the Information Enterprise.
SNIA will tutorials and showcase education programs and training partners capabilities.
