Fujitsu and SAP plan to announce Tuesday the expansion of a three-year old sales and support deal, Fujitsu said Monday.
The two companies will announce expanded global collaboration related to the 2001 deal, including the start of new initiatives in Japan and the expansion of current Japan-only initiatives to other markets, said Nancy Ikehara, a spokeswoman for Fujitsu in Tokyo.
In early 2001, Fujitsu and SAP signed a partnership under which Fujitsu would support the German company's e-business platform mySAP.com. The deal also involved support of mySAP.com on Fujitsu's global PrimePower (Unix) and Primergy (IA) server platforms and made Fujitsu the German company's first Asia-based global partner.
The two companies plan to announce their expanded alliance at a news conference in Tokyo this week. Chiaki Ito, senior vice president at Fujitsu, Stephan Rossius, senior vice president of SAP, and Kiyotaka Fujii, president of SAP Japan, will make the announcement, said Fujitsu.
