Pacific Internet is on the hunt for integration partners to help trigger take-up of its new regional IP communications network.
Based on multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), the network offers secure, business-grade connectivity from Australia to Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and India.
Two years in the making, the ISP was keen to sell the benefits of its new network to integrators servicing the SME market, according to managing director, Dennis Muscat.
"A lot of SMEs need to connect to countries outside Australia," he said. "We can now offer them that connection in a robust and secure manner."
Although integrators could source similar services through other providers, Muscat said he was confident Pacific Internet would still be able to offer value.
"It comes down to account management," he said. "The integrator's customer has one point of contact and gets one bill in the currency and country of their choice."
While the ISP currently had around 150 active local partners, smaller integrators acting in a trusted adviser capacity were required to grow usage of the network.
"It's our channel partners who invariably bring us opportunities so we need to expand our base of integrators and grow our share of wallet with them," he said.
The company would look to expand its network in line with demand to include fatter pipes and additional countries such as China and Pakistan, Muscat said.
