    Building High-Performance IT Teams 10/12/2007 13:11:09

Teams are pervasive in the world of it, and they come in many different flavours. Short-lived, single-purpose teams are often assembled to get one task completed. Project-oriented teams construct multifaceted solutions addressing complex but finite problems, and product development teams tend to be diverse in composition but stable over time. Within many organizations, a great deal of energy goes into building high-output IT teams that are sustainable in the long term

The University of Sydney has entered the world of enterprise desktop search to help streamline its information navigation and discovery requirements.

The ISYS desktop product from Sydney-based ISYS Search Software was selected for the solution.

The university's secretariat uses the software to search through almost 15 years of agendas, reports and minutes of the university's governing body and its main academic body.

Megan Kemmis, executive officer to the University of Sydney academic board, said ISYS was "highly recommended" to the university when it was seeking a solution for its search needs.

"We are extremely pleased with ISYS' ability to help our staff quickly and consistently pinpoint the information they need most," Kemmis said.

The university is also leveraging ISYS' contextual capabilities, which include entity extraction and automatic categorization.

ISYS is useful when staff members are seeking quick answers to queries posed by senior management at the university, according to the company.
