Sybase names Zalums as local MD

Enterprise infrastructure and mobile software provider Sybase has announced the appointment of Robert Zalums as managing director of its Australia and New Zealand operations.

Zalums, who will be based in Sydney, will be responsible for all trans-Tasman business.

He joins Sybase with more than 30 years experience in the IT industry, including a career at Cognos where he was managing director Australia, vice president Asia Pacific, and managing director UK.

Recently, Zalums worked at Crystal Decisions as managing director, ComOps as general manager, and also ran his own practice in enterprise performance management.

Sybase senior vice president and general manager for the Asia-Pacific region, Raymond Teh said Robert's BI experience will help the company increase sales and better position the company in the region.
