If you are using Windows Server Update Services Version 3.0 or version 3.0 Service Pack 1, then the following might be important to you with the monthly security release for July only a week away.

A recent posting published to Microsoft's Security Response Center Blog highlights an issue that may have been encountered by administrators that have Office 2003 co-installed on a system. Under certain configurations, it is possible that WSUS 3.0 will not allow any updates to be installed onto client systems.

Microsoft's recommendation is to check the WindowsUpdate.log on the client systems and the SoftwareDistribution.log on the server to identify and remove the duplicate entries associated with Office 2003 Service Pack 1.
