From stolen military gear to pirated software, or a piece of Nutri-Grain that looks like ET, to the entire country of New Zealand, e-commerce sites like eBay and Craigslist really do allow you to buy or sell just about anything online. Or at least try...
A woman in the US has even been charged with using the Craigslist classified-advertisement Web site to find a killer for a romantic rival, while an attempt to use eBay to sell a hacked laptop complete with Windows Vista attack code did not last long.
The Australian online market was crowded a little further this week, with the announcement that the Trading Post has weighed into the online auctions market with its own site.
So, in the spirit of buying and selling online, we ask you to share with us the most bizarre, debauched or downright hilarious items you have seen, bought or bidded on online...
Feel free to also vent your spleen over eBay's recent announcement that it will be using its massive market share to lock users into paying for purchases through its fee-based PayPal service. Is this a necessary safety precaution, or a shady deal for PayPal?

eBay's really getting more interesting
I don't use the site very much but hey, it seems that if you just want to kill time it'd be quite entertaining just to browse through the site and see what what's up for sale. Arm pit hair!!! That's a classic. I guess it won't come as a surprise if somebody starts selling hair from other parts of the body on the site now.
ebay's weird stuff section
ebay has its own weird stuff page

got head?
i love the fact you can buy stuff like shrunken heads or ghosts in jars on ebay

10 weirdest things sold on ebay
here's a list of the ten weirdest things ever sold on ebay, according to collage:
#10 The Internet
#9 UFO Detector
#8 The Meaning of Life
#7 Russian Test Space Shuttle
#6 Vampire Killing Kit
#5 Real Shrunken Head
#4 Ghost In a Jar
#3 USAF Hughes AIM-4D Falcon Missile
#2 Serial Killer's Fingernails
#1 Stricken Life" Painting
the story behind number one, according to the site is as follows:
A rather macabre-looking self-portrait of a man known only as "Harold," this painting is believed to be haunted. The artist was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in early 2001. Knowing that he could no longer care for his Multiple Sclerosis-stricken wife, he put a double-barrel shotgun against her head while she was sleeping and squeezed the trigger.
He then went into the den and put the shotgun in his own mouth. The house where the murder-suicide took place was eventually sold, and the new owners found the painting. Strange things started happening, such as the family dog sitting in front of the painting and howling, so Harold had to go -- on eBay, of course.
creepy!
I like it when people take
I like it when people take pictures of something, and you can see all their glory in the reflection.
Great gift for valentines.
I occasionally peruse the eBay archives looking for the latest solar powered battery charger, skull encrusted flesh tunnel (don't ask) or some other useless imitation junket, and have found many items forged in the dank little oubliettes of society.
None have grabbed my attention such as the 'dead baby pendant'. That is the title, and description of a lovely piece of jewelery which I found while looking for, well, again don't ask. A shimmering rope of 100 percent genuine plastic offers a modest pendant housing a photo of someone's deceased child, sure to make you the envy at parties.
Vive la Difference.
arm pit hair anyone?
I once saw someone flogging arm pit hair on ebay for sale - apparently pit hair is very popular with doll makers, they use it for eyelashes! ewwwwwwww!

I'd sell something if I had anything to sell, wacky or not :)
