16/03/2006 11:36:05

Sydney, Australia – Mar 16th 2006 – Digital Networks Australia, an Australian distributor of technology solutions, has today announced the Australian availability of application and network management software package WhatsUp® Professional 2006 Premium Edition, produced by Ipswitch. Digital Networks Australia is the exclusive Australian distributor of Ipswitch solutions.

Designed specifically to suit the needs of businesses with 25 computers and upwards, WhatsUp Professional 2006 Premium Edition delivers easy to administer and install application and network management, as well as automated monitoring and reporting features.

Martin Higham, Technical Manager for Digital Networks Australia commented, “Application and network management tools often fall into the too hard basket for smaller networks. Ipswitch WhatsUp Professional 2006 Premium Edition offers application and network management in an affordable package that is truly painless to deploy and use effectively.”

WhatsUp Professional 2006 Premium provides easy management of Microsoft® Exchange® and SQL Server based applications. In addition, any Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI) compliant application is automatically supported. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Versions 1, 2 and 3 compatible devices are also automatically supported. The combination of these protocols allows the monitoring of almost any network attached device.

Reports are produced using HTML, allowing reports to be easily accessed from any web browser. Standard statistical and performance reports are included, making it easy to understand network and application performance and availability. Additionally, WhatsUp Professional 2006 provides Web content monitoring, router bandwidth monitoring and trend analysis reporting. An expanded library of predefined reports, enhancements to recurring reports, web alarms, pagers notifications and database tools are also included.

WhatsUp Professional 2006 does not require large dedicated servers devoted to running the system. It uses SQL databases for its information store, allowing users to scale the system easily.

Devices and applications can be managed without disruptive installation of agents. WhatsUp Professional 2006 automatically discovers networks and applications by using standard interfaces to devices and servers.
