The Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Forum has named former GSMA, North American Interest Group chair, Robert L. Brown as its new CEO.
As CEO of the WAP Forum - an international industry association that develops and fosters the growth of WAP - Brown will provide worldwide oversight and executive management of the WAP Forum.
Brown's primary duties will involve overseeing the growth and development of WAP specifications and advocating WAP and the wireless industry.
Brown will coordinate the efforts of the WAP Forum working groups and committees, made up of representatives from its hundred of member companies.
He will also be responsible for the day to day operations of the WAP Forum and its staff, and will report to the WAP Forum board of directors.
