Norton Internet Security 2009 has a new "transparent" look that is supposed to reflect the new transparency of the user interface. Process Trust allows the Norton security products to avoid scanning files that are found on most computers and are statistically determined to be trusted. After a system scan, the Risk Impact window gives a concise summary of a risk's potential effect on system performance and privacy, and how involved the risk removal will be. NIS 2009 beta isn't completely set up; while its toolbar grades sites for phishing attempts, some questionable sites haven't been tagged yet.
