Network gateway appliance vendor, Secure Computing, is on the hunt for more resellers as it looks to sink its teeth into the SMB market.
Country manager, Eric Krieger, said he wanted more Silver level resellers that had basic networking and VPN knowledge.
"We are looking for partners who have a clear idea where their business is going and we want to help them achieve their goals and objectives, and marry that to our own objectives," he said. "The types of resellers we want range from one-person bands to corporate resellers."
Secure Computing has been conducting a review on its channel over the past three months, and Krieger said he was close to announcing who its enterprise and SMB distributors would be.
The company would also split its SMB and enterprise channels.
"Our enterprise distributors are a tight-knit group highly focused on promoting enterprise solutions to their enterprise resellers," he said. "What we bring into the SMB space for resellers is an enterprise-based technology that is now financially available to the SMB market and there is going to be more products coming out as well."
Krieger said its SMB distributors would be able to offer resellers free technical and sales training. Secure Computing has a three-tier partner program - with the usual Platinum, Gold and Silver levels.
Secure Computing in July appointed a channel assistance organisation, Channel Enablers, to conduct the expressions-of-interest process in a tender for distribution.
The vendor's tier one distributors include itX, Blue Sky Technologies and WhiteGold. Its SMB distributors are TechPlus, MPA Systems, Bax IT, Coretech and ServerBits.
Secure Computing recently launched an enterprise-grade Internet appliance, SnapGear with TrustedSource, for the SMB sector.
This version delivers enhanced VoIP capabilities, VPN offloading, connection tracking snapshots and increased performance, according to Secure Computing.
