Mobile telecommunications heavyweight, Kevin Brough, has joined the Board of Leopard Labs, providers of mobile content access management (MCAM).
Brough is a former managing director of Nokia Networks (Pacific Region) and has held senior positions with Lucent Technologies and EDS.
He has wide-ranging experience in the telecommunications industries in the US, Asia and the Pacific region.
While on the Board of Leopard Labs, Brough will assist in strategic planning and commercialization of Leopard Labs' mobile security and content filtering system, Mozone.
"Leopard Labs products are leading edge and will add tremendous value to our Telco partners, handset manufacturers and the consumer market in general," he said.
"These products coupled with an outstanding management team will see Leopard Labs become a leader in the wireless marketplace."
Leopard Labs is in the advanced stages of discussions with local carriers and handset manufacturers on the release of Mozone.
Brough will help steer Leopard Labs negotiations and open up new opportunities in Australia and overseas.
Board chairman, John Fison, said Brough's experience and credibility in the international telecommunications market will help address opportunities on a global scale.
The appointment of Brough coincides with the expansion of the sales team at Leopard Labs as well as the development of key new relationships with industry partners.
Leopard Labs has just signed an OEM agreement with anti-virus specialist, Kaspersky.
Leopard Labs was also recently recognized as a Platinum Partner by Symbian.
This supports the growing market for Symbian smartphones by providing innovative content filtering and security solutions to the Symbian ecosystem.
