Staff numbers set to increase

Storage provider, Quantum Corporation, has appointed Jeff LeBold as managing director for the Asia Pacific region.

In this position, LeBold is responsible for promoting Quantum's value proposition to the storage community, driving the company's continued growth, establishing and developing sales channels, professional service operations and strategic alliances within the Asia Pacific market.

LeBold, who replaces Emil Kobylarz as managing director, previously ran Asia Pacific for ADIC.

"The year 2007 is a period of transition for Quantum, as we're now nine months into the acquisition of ADIC, and we have our first new combined product on the market - the DXi Series - disk-based backup and recovery appliances based on our patented de-duplication technologies developed in Australia," LeBold said.

"In addition to enterprise tape libraries and our StorNext software, we see data de-duplication as a major thrust for Quantum worldwide for 2007.

"To this end I'm pleased to announce that we will be growing the Quantum teams across Asia-Pacific to better support our valuable customers."

Quantum is the world's largest volume supplier of both tape drives and tape automation and has pioneered the development of disk-based systems optimised for backup and recovery.
