Dimension Data Appoints New National Human Resources Director
08/07/2008 16:58:00

Ms Reeves was promoted to this role from her previous position as Southern Region HR Manager. She takes over from her predecessor Jill Shapiro, who was a 10-year veteran with Dimension Data.

Specifically, Ms Reeves is responsible for further developing the Dimension Data organisation as an employer of choice, a high-performance culture, and enabling the organisation to attract, develop and retain the right people.

Ms Reeves’ portfolio entails the provision of strategic advice to the management team on HR best practice, employee relations and change management, remuneration and performance-management programs, learning and development programs, talent management programs, and recruitment programs to create a culture of learning and career progression.

She joined Dimension Data as Victorian HR Manager in 2004, and was later promoted to Southern Region HR Manager in 2006, with responsibility for Dimension Data’s HR operations in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

She has over 14 years experience in HR and industrial relations in the professional services, retail and legal sectors. Prior to joining Dimension Data, Ms Reeves spent four years with KPMG as a senior HR business consultant, managing HR services in the firm’s audit and shared services divisions from 2001 to 2004. She also served as a Tipstaff at the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW for two years.

“I believe that understanding the nuts and bolts of managing your human capital and culture within a business is key to an HR management role. I hope to bring a fresh set of eyes to Dimension Data’s HR team, and our people and culture focus,” Ms Reeves said.

Commenting on her challenge in her new role, she said: “I’m really looking forward to helping Dimension Data tackle the major issue currently facing our industry – the skills shortage – particularly as we continue to grow our business. I’ll be working hard to address this through our graduate program, our brand and reputation, our value proposition in the marketplace, retention strategies, and innovative ways to find the right recruits for our business.”

Commenting on Ms Reeves’ appointment, Steve Nola, Dimension Data’s Australian CEO said: “It’s been 10 years since we’ve had to recruit for this critical national role, so it was important that we looked at both external and internal candidates. Kellie’s expertise was at least equal to that of our external candidates, and importantly, she had the benefit of internal knowledge and experience from her four years at Dimension Data.”

Kellie will report to Merle Singer, Dimension Data’s Director of Culture and Reputation.

Commenting on Ms Reeves’ appointment, Ms Singer said: “Kellie will be a fantastic leader for Dimension Data’s HR team, not only for her talent and skill, but also for the valuable personal qualities she displays. Her calmness under pressure, and her genuine passion and care for her team and people make her the perfect candidate for the role.”

Hailing from Steel City – NSW’s Newcastle – Ms Reeves relocated from Sydney to Melbourne five years ago while at KPMG. It was both a career move, and also because she was attracted to Melbourne’s cultural and culinary appeal. Kellie will remain based in Melbourne in her new role.

Kellie holds an honours degree in Business from the University of Newcastle, NSW and is a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).

In her spare time, she is a keen cinema, travel, art, philosophy and gardening buff.
