Atex adapts business requirements management suite
Optimal Trace, a dedicated requirements management suite developed by Compuware, will allow Atex to chart and respond to customer requirements for software solutions sets.

Software and service provider Atex has adapted a business requirements management suite developed by Compuware in an effort to expedite the delivery of software solutions.

The suite, Optimal Trace, uses visual storyboards and traceable relationships to provide a structured approach to recording and communicating business requirements for a software project.

One advantage of the suite is that multiple people can be working on a document at any given time, eliminating the need to merge sections of a document.

The suite also provides a standardised approach to requirements documentation and has increased Atex's ability to provide gap analysis between a software set's standard functionality and customers' individual requirements.

Atex had previously been recording business requirements via Microsoft Word – a very manual process that would often involve re-entering information repeatedly.
