MELBOURNE – 16 January 2006 – destra Corporation Limited (ASX:DES) (destra) has announced the appointment of Clive Mayhew to the newly created role of General Manager, destra Media (a 100 per cent owned digital media division of destra Corporation).
“Clive represents that 'final piece to the puzzle' that takes destra Media to the next level where we cannot be ignored as a major player in the local market with a view to becoming a strong global player,” said Domenic Carosa, destra’s CEO. “We sought an executive with a solid, broad professional background including experience in markets relevant to destra. With destra Media poised for explosive growth, Clive has the proven capabilities to ensure that we fully capitalise on the opportunity in front of us."
Mayhew brings 20 years of operational and business leadership experience in the technology sector to his role as General Manager. His proven track record in profit centre management, team development and high revenue growth in software, internet and ecommerce management has been recognised over the years. Strategies and implementation will be based on destra Media’s core plank of music, entertainment and youth focus.
He is well known in Australia for his high profile roles as Netscape’s founding Managing Director and Solution 6’s Group Marketing Director. In 1999, he was recruited to work in America with Internet Music pioneers CDNOW running their international operations; he also launched the Chello iTV commercial relationships within Europe and has consulted to several leading technology organisations both in the United States and Europe.
Since his return to Australia in July 2005, Mayhew has been consulting to Australia’s leading internet company Realestate.com.au helping develop its New Zealand operations.
Mayhew has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Computer Science & Education. He has been consulting to destra since November 2005 on a part-time basis and will join full-time as General Manager for destra Media from 1 March 2006.
