The ASG Group (ASX: ASZ) is promising to have a very profitable financial year, if its results for the first half are any indication.

ASG recorded an EBITDA of around $7 million for the first half of this financial year, much higher than the $4 million the company had recorded over the same time last year.

This figure is also well over half of the around $11 million the company reported for the full 2007 financial year.

Spokespeople for the company attribute this success to ASG's resource management aptitude, its commitment to IT standards such as ISO 20000 and the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of its services.

According to the spokespeople ASG has also benefited from the ICT industry's recent focus on selective outsourcing, which has given companies other than the major multinationals a chance to carve out a slice of the outsourcing pie.

ASG is a selective IT outsourcer and network security provider.
