AXS-One, a leading provider of high-performance records compliance management software solutions, has announced that it has been positioned in the Visionary Quadrant of Gartner Inc.’s analysis of the e-mail archiving market.
Gartner, the leading provider of research and analysis on the global information technology industry with more than 45,000 clients worldwide, described the e-mail archiving market as targeting vendors “that not only provide for the capture of all e-mail messages but also use that archive to allow for the purging of messages from the active mail data store while giving the end user the illusion of an infinite mailbox.” In particular, products were evaluated for both basic and advanced functionality, with special focus on archive scalability and storage management capabilities, mailbox management, compliance supervision, legal discovery, and integration with other related technologies.
The report, titled "Magic Quadrant for E-Mail Active Archiving, 2006" is authored by Gartner Research Vice Presidents Carolyn DiCenzo and Kenneth Chin, and was published on May 12, 2006.
“We’re honoured to be in the Visionary Quadrant of the active e-mail archiving industry report and we reaffirm our commitment to raising the bar for performance in this market,” said David Thompson, Managing Director of AXS-One Australia Pty Ltd.
“We hear from our customers around the world that in a business environment dominated by issues around compliance, governance and legal discovery, high-performance e-mail archiving will continue to rise in importance. The AXS-One Compliance Platform was designed from the ground up to meet all these needs, and we will continue to enhance our technology and grow our business to stay ahead of evolving priorities.” E-mail archiving is a fully integrated component of the AXS-One Compliance Platform™, a single, scalable platform that enables organisations to manage growing volumes of disparate electronic records. This includes fully developed support for a broad range of e-mail platforms—including MS Exchange and Lotus Notes, as well as Sun Microsystems Java Messaging Server (JMS) and SMTP-based formats—as well as instant messages, SAP reports, desktop documents, images and other digital content.
All records are managed according to corporate policies, from initial capture and indexing through archiving, retention, and ultimate destruction. This helps address corporate governance, legal discovery and regulatory compliance, along with operational efficiency. Patent-pending search technology enables organisations to respond quickly and accurately to the growing pressures of e-discovery and litigation support. AXS-One’s lead in the Lotus Notes archiving market has been recognised by a number of industry awards, including the Lotus Advisor Award for 2006.
