Sydney – October 2, 2008 – Kroll Ontrack®, the leading provider of data recovery and legal technologies products and services, today announced it expanded and improved its Ontrack® Data Recovery service capabilities beyond Microsoft® Exchange, SharePoint® and SQL databases to now include independent support for Oracle® systems. This enhanced support provides Oracle-using enterprises with a viable, cost-effective, alternative expert resource when a data loss situation ensues on an Oracle database.

“According to a 2008 IDC analyst report, Oracle owns 44 percent of the database market,” said Adrian Briscoe, General Manager Asia Pacific, Kroll Ontrack. “This offering directly addresses the fact that there are hundreds of large enterprises using Oracle databases and data loss scenarios can be very detrimental to the productivity and livelihood of these businesses. With Kroll Ontrack, Oracle administrators have a trusted, experienced data recovery expert to turn to.”

Database data loss scenarios can include anything from RAID or hardware failures to internal database corruptions and deleted database entries. With in-lab, remote and on-site data recovery service options, Kroll Ontrack has the ability to perform just-in-time service to accommodate virtually any and every Oracle database recovery situation. The company also offers round-the-clock customer service in 14 languages as well as real-time tracking of job progress through its Ontrack Online™ application.

In addition to enhanced recovery capabilities for Oracle systems, Kroll Ontrack has also built post recovery applications that will insert the recovered data back into an existing Oracle database while maintaining original table structure and other important metadata. This complete approach to the recovery process saves precious time for system administrators and users, and helps them to get back to their data as quickly as possible.
