Primus Telecom opens $3.2 million call centre
Will create 1000 jobs locally

Primus Telecom will officially open its $3.2 million call centre in Melbourne today.

The new customer service centre will create around 1000 local jobs.

It will be officially opened by the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, at 2.30pm.

Australia has five major Internet Service Providers including Telstra, Optus, Primus, iiNet and Unwired.

These five providers collectively service 75 percent of broadband users.

Primus Telecom is part of the global Primus Telecommunications Group Inc, which is a Nasdaq-listed company with its global headquarters in Washington.
