New product: TeraStation™ and LinkTheater™ RRP: $1999 and $449 Available: July
Buffalo by Uniden introduces the ultimate digital storage devices for home and small office environments. As the name suggests, the new TeraStation™ features a terabyte of network attached storage. Coupled with the LinkTheater™ Wireless HD Media Player, it enables wired or wireless streaming of multimedia files to any television or stereo system.
TeraStation™ - $1999 rrp
The TeraStation™ offers powerful one Terabyte (1000 GB) storage, server and multimedia solutions for both small business and home applications. Combining advanced fault tolerant data solutions, robust file security and Gigabit Ethernet networking, the TeraStation™ allows users to deploy a simple and cost effective media server to their office or home network.
Featuring four USB 2.0 ports, the device can accommodate additional external USB hard drives for expanded networked storage or as backup targets. It also allows a USB printer to be managed and shared on the network or even a USB TV tuner for the recording of television programs.
In addition, the TeraStation™ can be cascaded with another TeraStation™ to expand network available storage well beyond the single terabyte level.
Built-in FTP server functionality allows users to share and retrieve all their content remotely from wherever internet access is available.
Aesthetically the TeraStation™ is housed in a sleek metallic box and suits any office or home décor. About the size of a small subwoofer, it saves on space without compromising performance.
LinkTheater™ $449 rrp
The new LinkTheater™ is a true digital home solution. This high-definition wireless media player features built-in DVD and enables the seamless integration of a wireless network with a home entertainment centre…your true Digital Home Solution.
In addition to being a DVD player, the LinkTheater™ enables users to access media content stored on their PC or network attached storage devices such as a LinkStation™ or TeraStation™. This means they can browse music files, watch videos and display photos all from their television system, wired or wirelessly. It also supports internet radio and web browsing.
Featuring 802.11g technology, the LinkTheater™ delivers maximum wireless signal rates of up to 54Mbps for the streaming of digital media content from the media server, PC or notebook.
The LinkTheater™ also supports true high definition playback and up-conversion to ensure superior picture quality. And it offers outstanding compatibility (DivX certified), supporting file playback from virtually any audio, video or image format.
Using sophisticated AOSS (Airstation One-Touch Secure System) technology, the LinkTheater™ is easy to install and manage. AOSS takes the hassle out of wireless installation by automatically detecting and configuring other AOSS enabled wireless devices. It seamlessly creates secure connections so only authorised users can access shared data. As more devices are added to the network, security is negotiated at the highest level.
With its sleek design, ease-of-use and low cost, the LinkTheater™ Hi-Definition Wireless Media Player is the ultimate home entertainment network solution.
