EMC acquires business process management vendor

EMC this week acquired ProActivity, a vendor of business process management software.

Proactivity's ProActivity 6.0 monitors and analyzes business processes and allows IT managers to improve those business processes. The company has offices in Newton, Mass., and research-and-development facilities in Israel.

ProActivity's software will supplement EMC's Documentum BPM Suite and will be part of EMC's Software Group, led by president Dave DeWalt.

The acquisition follows EMC's acquisitions of nLayers and Kashya, two other companies with Israel R&D operations.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
