    Proposed US bill takes on phishing, irks Internet trade group 05/03/2008 11:07:19

    An antiphishing bill that was introduced in the US Senate last week could end up being used by large holders of trademarks to unfairly wrest legitimate domain names away from small businesses and individuals, according to a trade group that represents domain name investors and so-called direct search companies.

    E-commerce specialists are frustrated by what they claim is a foot-dragging attitude to internet services by Australia's banks. Philip McCrea, who moderates the influential Internet Commerce Association mailing list, says banks are slow to recognise the internet as a business enabler.
