SAN MATEO (08/14/2000) - Bluestone Software Inc. and XMLSolutions Corp. have joined forces to enable the exchange of data between EDI (electronic data interchange) and XML-based systems. The integration of Bluestone's Total-e-B2B e-business Integration Server with XML Solutions' XEDI Translator and Schema Central will enable companies with EDI systems, which previously communicated only with other EDI systems, to conduct business with partners using XML. Bluestone and XML Solutions also want to enable companies to exchange XML-to-XML and schema-to-schema data.

FRAMINGHAM (08/11/2000) - Philadelphia-based Bluestone Software Inc.'s business-to-business transaction server will be integrated with McLean, Va.-based XMLSolutions Corp.'s electronic data interchange (EDI) and XML translation and schema management software. The integration will help firms exchange data between EDI- and XML-based systems, the companies said this week. The Bluestone/XMLSolutions offering is expected in the fourth quarter.

In a significant move to de-liver on its promise of building trading exchanges that reduce operating and financing costs, rather than just giving companies access to commodities, Commerce One Inc. inked a deal this week with XMLSolutions Corp.

But when Advanced Marketing wanted to work online with SamsClub.com, it had to figure out how to send its EDI messages over the Internet using SamsClub's proprietary XML format.

E-commerce solution provider Clarus Corp. this week bought Redeo Technologies. Clarus will incorporate Redeo's Web-based payment settlement into its own software, eProcurement and eMarket. As part of the acquisition, Clarus gains large global customers, including Nortel and Abbott Labs.
