The Australian Computer Society (ACS) on Monday released a report indicating that ICT skills shortages will grow to 14,000 jobs by 2010, and will continue to reach 25,000 by 2020 unless government and industry heighten collaboration to ease the skills shortages.

The scholarship arm of the Australian Computer Society, the ACS Foundation, this morning announced that it had awarded more than 430 scholarships worth $4.4 million during financial year 2007 - its highest year since it began promoting private and public sponsorship of ICT scholarships, higher education and research projects in 2001.

It has also asked the government to double the $1 million R&D tax offset threshold.
