Savvis Communications Corp. has inked a joint marketing deal with Yipes Communications Inc. Yipes is selling Savvis, Internet access service to its customers, and Savvis is recommending Yipes local optical network services to its customers. While Yipes offers Internet access services from other ISPs, Yipes is selling the Savvis Internet access services as a "premium" offering for business users based on what it sees as Savvis' impressive performance and reliability statistics. Customers will pay more for the service but are expected to get better service-level guarantees. Yipes is a start-up service provider building fiber-optical local networks that offer users dedicated Gigabit Ethernet virtual LAN services in metropolitan areas. - +
