For Web apps, 2005 was the year of AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML). In addition to bringing rich GUIs to many high-profile commercial apps, AJAX got a boost from some top-notch toolkits including Backbase, JackBe, and Tibco General Interface. FRAMINGHAM (09/08/2000) - Hardware testing tools vendor Teradyne Inc. in Boston last week spun off several of its subsidiaries to form a new company called Empirix Inc. Teradyne subsidiaries Hammer Technologies Inc., RSW Software Inc. and Software and Systems Test will form the basis of the new company, which will focus on Web-based performance and testing tools. Waltham, Mass.-based Empirix will employ about 380 people..
