Dell plans to release a reference architecture in the future that will pave the way for enterprises to reduce power consumption and go green in the future, Dell CEO Michael Dell said in a keynote at the Oracle OpenWorld 2007 conference in the US this week.

At first blush it may seem like no big deal: clocks in the US will move ahead by an hour three weeks earlier than usual this year. But for today's networked businesses, the simple change could mean complex problems if IT shops aren't prepared, industry experts say.

US energy supplier NiSource said Tuesday it has signed a 10-year agreement with IBM to outsource a number of IT support functions, a deal IBM estimated will be worth US$1.6 billion in service fees over the life of the contract.

In other words, involve customers and suppliers in a business ecosystem that provides such high value, so simply, few would leave it.
