Patrick Chan, Chief Technology Advisor, IDC Asia/Pacific Emerging Technologies
Patrick Chan has over 18 years of industry consulting experience, serving in roles as diverse as technical director, global architect, e-government specialist, and research scientist.

As Chief Technology Advisor of IDC's Asia/Pacific Emerging Technologies practice, his focus and expertise is in the areas of Service-Oriented-Architecture (SOA), Business Activity Monitoring, Composite Applications, Standards and Integrations (EAI), Grid Computing, Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure, and other emerging technologies. He continues his extensive work with CXOs and the industry on innovations to better enable business functions, through his advisory roles for the Standard Operating Environment initiatives in various industrial, governmental and academic institutions. He leads in IDC's Dynamic IT Benchmarking studies, advising and working with corporate CXOs on their IT refresh and business sourcing decisions.

Marcin Kurc, Director & Chief Technologist, Novell's Global Strategic Partners organization
Marcin is a director and chief technologist for Novell's Global Strategic Partners organization. He has held various positions, most recently heading up technology sales of the Linux Impact Team.

Prior to joining Novell Marcin has been managing IT operations at various companies including Merck, Inc. and Cooper Standard Products.

Marcin is an open source veteran; he has been a Linux ambassador since the early nineties.

Tom Cochran, Senior Sales Executive IP&L Customer Advocacy Team, Microsoft Asia Pacific and India
Thomas Cochran joined the WW IP&L Customer Advocacy team in April of 07 and is directly responsible for the development of the Microsoft/Novell relationship and articulating Microsoft's IP strategy in Asia Pacific and India. Prior to joining the IP&L team he was the business manager for the Communication Sector APJ team running sales operations and assisting with business planning.

Thomas joined Microsoft in 2003 and has 17 years of experience in the IT industry in a wide range of roles including Sales, Partner Development and Professional Services. Prior to joining Microsoft he worked for AT&T, Nortel and three different venture funded firms in the US.

Jason Cowie, CIO, Macmahon Holdings Limited
Jason was appointed Chief Information Officer at Macmahon Holdings in 2002. Macmahon Holdings is a major Australian company operating in the mining and civil construction sectors.

Listed on the ASX with over 2,700 employees, Macmahon's head office is located in Perth, Western Australia with other offices Queensland, Northern Territory, New South Wales and Malaysia.

Mr Cowie has been with Macmahon since 1997, where he was employed as the IT Manager for the Underground division. He was promoted as the corporate IT Services Administrator in 2000.

Before working for Macmahon, Mr. Cowie worked for Ludin Computers Pty Ltd, where he was employed as Technical Manager.

Peter Kerney Senior Solution Architect, Intel Australia
Peter Kerney Senior Solution Architect, Intel Australia Peter Kerney is an Enterprise Technical Specialist with Intel Australia. He works with end users and solution providers to architect solutions that support new Intel platforms and usage models. Peter is experienced in high performance computing, visualisation, broadcast and simulation technologies.
