It's no secret now that the IT jobs market is on the road to recovery post global financial crisis. Top Australian recruitment firms such as Hays, Hudson, Olivier and Clarius have all reported a boost in market confidence, and a flurry of job ads and skilled professionals back in the marketplace.

Most recently, a survey conducted by the IT wing of Hays reported that out of 1,351 people job progression was the most important consideration for job seekers post-GFC.

At 38.27 percent, career progression was narrowly ahead of long-term job security, which was rated as most important by 37.45 percent of jobseekers, and salary was most important for 24.28 percent.

One recruiter went so far as to say a more successful and rewarding career was waiting for those who didn't factor in job security and money into their job of choice.

But what do you think? Is your salary the be all and end all? Or is a comfortable friendly workplace full of opportunity more important?

What is most important to you in a job post the GFC?

Seek seems to think most people (across the economy) think it is IT help desk!
